Patch test and consent visit
15 minA visit of its own for a first-timer who wants to meet Aneta, see the room and try the wax on a small spot before booking a service. No wax goes on anywhere else.
Waxing and skin, by appointment
Aneta Michalak is a licensed esthetician with a private room on Eighth Street. Before any wax goes on, she tries it on a small spot, tells you what comes next and waits for your yes.

How a visit starts
New clients and regulars start the same way. The rest of the visit follows from these four steps.
Aneta goes over what you booked and what each part involves. You choose what is waxed and what is left alone.
She tries the wax on a small spot of your arm and waits. You look at the spot together before going on.
You say yes to the service, the area and what happens next, in your own words. You can take it back at any point.
The service you booked, with a word before each strip. You leave with aftercare steps in writing.
The menu
Every service lists the time it takes. Prices are Aneta's own and show on the booking page when you choose a service.

A month before the day: the patch test, one or two of the services you plan to have, and a written plan for the weeks that follow.
Aneta maps the brow with a pencil and a ruler, you agree on the shape, then she waxes the strays and tidies the edges with tweezers.
Book: Brow shapingBrows, lip, chin and sides of the face in one visit, with a pause between areas so you can ask for a break.
Book: Full faceAdded to a brow visit. Aneta tells you what she uses before she starts, and tries a small spot first if it is your first tint.
Prices are set by the service and the area, and shown when you book.
The room
One bed, a lamp and a stool, in a quiet suite off a hall. Aneta keeps the room warm for every visit.

Your esthetician
Aneta is the studio's only esthetician. She waxes brows, face, arms, legs and the bikini line, and she does every patch test herself. Summers are weddings and lake visitors; the rest of the year is locals on a regular visit. She speaks English and Polish.
Hours
By appointment only, no walk-ins. Summer Monday openings are posted on the booking page.
Questions
Aneta tests the wax on a small spot of your arm at the start of every visit, to check the temperature and how your skin is that day. At a first visit she waits longer and you look at the spot together.
About a quarter inch, roughly three to four weeks of growth, so the wax can grip. If it is shorter, Aneta tells you to wait; if it is longer, she may trim it first.
Yes. Your consent is something you can take back at any point. Say stop and Aneta stops; you decide whether to go on, change the area or end the visit.
Book a trial visit about a month before: the patch test, one or two services and a written plan. Then book the wedding-week visit two to five days before the day, so any redness settles.
Prices aren't printed on this site. They depend on the service, the area and any add-ons, and the booking page shows them when you choose a service, before you confirm.
